Ritalin

As of Saturday Kathryn started taking Ritalin. I was very oppossed to giving her the medicine, which in my mind is the equivalant of giving her cocaine. I must now admit that it is not so bad. While I am against giving a child drugs just so the parents don't have to deal with the problems, this has done a world of good. Her personality is still just as sweet and lovely, but she is able to concentrate and she is a much better listener. In every way. The biggest test will be school. She goes back tomorrow. Hopefully it will be much better and we will no longer get any negative reports. I mean besides the usual ones you can expect a 4 year old to get. But I will say today is the first day in 4 years I have been able to be a bit relaxed. It's been a nice day.

Catching up

Everything is moving along nicely in my life. The roommate situation is still good and we have taken to grilling out on the front or back porch (depending on the weather) every Sunday. We call it beer, grillin' and chillin' day. We sit around in our comfy clothes, grill out and chill out. Joe and Junior join us...and sometimes Parmish and Nick. It's the perfect way to get ready for the week ahead. Just relaxing...our one rule is we never leave to go anywhere. So we make sure we have enough beer Saturday night to last us all day Sunday. Angi and I are going to Miami in a few weeks. We will be there a week visiting some of her family and friends. In June we are going to Puerto Rico for a week to visit her Aunt. Maybe I should keep a log of my summer travels and adventures this year and write a book. Now to think of title...Maybe just "Summer". Or "Summer Travels". Hmmm...something to ponder.
