Live and Learn
I was driving home from dropping Kathryn off at school this morning and I started thinking about all the things I have learned from people throughout my life. From friends, former friends, family, etc...all have affected my life in some way or another...some profoundly others just a little. A list follows:
Dad: be honest, be loyal, work hard
Mom: don't settle for second best
Kim(my sister): when something stops growing it starts dying...LIVE!!!
Dave(Spencer): always expect the unexpected, especially when you think things won't change(They usually do).
Zoƫ(my niece): simplicity in all you do.
Eddie: people that you hang out with in a bar are NOT your friend. Don't mistake them for friends, they will screw you over if given the chance. Also, how to fold my shirts so they won't wrinkle. And how to drive in an open jeep in Mexico in the pouring rain and laugh about it.
Michelle: flush it and let it go!
Garret: roomates can be fun and "let it roll off like water on a duck"
Sean: don't be quick to trust people.
Joe(hoopes): life is as easy or difficult as you choose to make it.
Craig(Ori): some friends are always around, even if you lose contact for a few years.
Rusty(Strunk): Laugh often.
Matt(Martin): my best friend in the entire world...he taught me how to never let go of people that are important to you...through war and marriages and high school we have remained very close. How easy a phone call is to make to someone you care about.
Trey(my ex-husband): divorce doesn't have to lead to complete dissaperance of friendship.
Scott: What goes around comes around.
Jason(Barnhill): don't let people walk all over you, stand up for yourself.
Angie: love your man with all your heart.
Natalie: Things get stranger everyday.
Ann Margaret: be creative everyday.
Kathryn: unconditional love.
As I ponder this over the next few days I will come back and add more.
